Hypertech is a Greek SME founded in 1997. The Energy Labs unit specialises in ICT solutions for the Smart Home and Smart Grid. It aims to provide flexible solutions for small and medium-sized consumers as well as integrated solutions for utilities and energy service providers in the field of demand-side management, e.g. aggregators. The business strategy of Hypertech includes research and development of advanced technologies, to create a full suite of solutions and products appealing to everyone involved in the electricity market. Hypertech Energy Labs has been actively involved in EU co-funded R&D programmes since its establishment. Through its continuous research and commercial activities, Hypertech Energy Labs has gradually created over the years a vast expertise on various aspects of demand-side management from home automation software and hardware solutions to machine learning techniques, optimisation algorithms and the development of innovative tools both for the prosumers, utilities and aggregators.

University College London (UCL) was established in 1826 to open education in England for the first time to students of any race, class or religion. UCL is ranked eighth in the world’s top ten universities by the QS World University Rankings (2020) and the top- rated university in the UK for research strength (Research Excellence Framework 2014), by a measure of average research score multiplied by staff numbers submitted. It was rated top not only in the overall results, but in each of the assessed components: publications and other research outputs, research environment and research impact. Nobel Prizes have been awarded to 29 people who were students or academics at UCL. UCL attracts the third highest number of academic citations per faculty member in the UK showing the high esteem and relevance of the institution’s research (QS 2013).

Technical University of Denmark (DTU) is a polytechnic university and school of engineering. It was founded in 1829 at the initiative of Hans Christian Ørsted as Denmark’s first polytechnic, and it is today ranked among Europe’s leading engineering institutions. It is located in the town Kongens Lyngby, 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) north of central Copenhagen, Denmark.

Along with École Polytechnique in Paris, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Eindhoven University of Technology, Technical University of Munich and Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, DTU is a member of EuroTech Universities Alliance.

The University of Edinburgh is one of the largest and most successful universities in the UK with an international reputation as a centre of academic excellence. Its international character is reflected in its student population, which comprises of 2,600 European students and 6,000 International students (out of a total population of around 25,500 students) from over 120 different countries worldwide. It can also be found in its truly international staff and in its joint research and other links with overseas universities, institutes, companies and governments.

CERTH – The Information Technologies Institute (ITI – Web Site: www.iti.gr)was founded in 1998 as a non-profit organisation under the auspices of the General Secretariat for Research and Technology of Greece, with its head office located in Thessaloniki, Greece. Since 10.3.2000 it is a founding member of the CERTH also supervised by the General Secretariat for Research and Technology (GSRT). CERTH/ITI is one of the leading Institutions of Greece in the fields of Informatics, Telematics and Telecommunications, with long experience in numerous European and national R&D projects. It is active in a large number of research domains such as Energy Efficiency, Security and Surveillance, Image and Signal Processing, Computer & Cognitive Vision, Human Computer Interaction, Virtual and Augmented Reality, Machine Learning & Deep Learning, Multimedia, Visual and Data Analytics, Database and Information Systems and Social Media Analysis.

The Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) is the largest Spanish technological university as well as a renowned European institution. With two recognitions as Campus of International Excellence, it is outstanding in its research activity together with its training of highly-qualified professionals, competitive at an international level. More than 2,400 researchers carry out their activity at the UPM, grouped in 216 Research Groups, 10 Research Centres and 55 Laboratories, all of them committed to transforming the knowledge generated into advances applied to the production sector.

BOC is a software development house and a consultant in the field of IT-supported management approaches. The main business field and its origin is Business Process Management with the toolkit ADONIS®. Today BOC offers commercial modelling tools for strategy management (ADOscore®), business process management (ADONIS®), logistics (ADOlog®), IT-infrastructure and IT-architecture management (ADOit®) and a governance, risk and compliance (GRC®) suite. Recently the research group of BOC created an Innovation Laboratory with the purpose to innovate the BOC group internally as well as to offer this innovation services to customers. This Innovation Laboratory consists of creative, evaluation and engineering spaces and a robots-based proof of concept area, where the behaviour of models can be demonstrated with physical objects.

QUE Technologies is an Athens, Greece based company with the mission to fuse technologies from the blockchain and the IoT domains to facilitate automated flexibility exchange through the use of smart contracts triggered by real-time context information. Our goal is to re-invent Building Control by introducing the Internet of Things (IoT) paradigm into Human Centric cutting-edge Building Management Systems for Homes and Offices that interact with the neighbourhood and the energy system in a Smart City paradigm. QUE offers a distributed intelligence framework combining AI, IoT and blockchain suitable for a wide range of decentralized business applications.

Novitech is well known as collaborative partner and reliable vendor for EU institutions and networks. Since the establishment of Novitech in 1989, the company mission has remained unchanged “To deliver innovative IT service solutions”. Our vision “To create full service life-cycle IT capabilities” includes: Business analysis and design, detailed functional specifications, application development and service deployment involving all phases of project management. ASM Research Solutions Strategy is a private, non-profit research SME, founded in 1996, specialised in research project management, socio-economic research, market and business analysis. In area of market and business analysis ASM works on business plans, business models and market strategies planning using different market analysis methods: desk research, questionnaire interviews, In depth interviews and on this base define market shares, market potential, forecasts, etc. In socio economic studies ASM has been developing regional economic profiles, economic forecasts and promotional strategies for many regional and local authorities in Poland.

Ferrovial Construction is one of the world leaders in the construction of major transport infrastructures. It is also recognized for its ability to execute all types of civil engineering, industrial, building and water projects. The company was founded in 1927 and has more than 55 years of international activity (especially designing & building turnkey projects for PPP Schemes) in more than 50 countries in 5 continents (over 770 projects successfully carried out). Ferrovial Construction belongs to FERROVIAL Group (Spain), which is a leading company in the development of transport infrastructure, mobility solutions, engineering and construction of civil works and buildings.

Olympia Odos is the Special Purpose Company set up to manage a 30-year concession project consisting of the design, construction, maintenance and operation of Athens (Elefsina) – Korinthos – Patra motorway in Greece. The 202km 1.48bn Euro project finished in 2017. The new, modern and comfortable motorway offers an upgraded and safe connection to the western part of Greece and in particular to and from the Port of Patras. The project started in August 2008 and underwent a major restructuring in December 2013. Olympia Odos was the only project constructed under traffic and therefore was one of the most difficult projects constructed in Greece within the last decades.
